I met a friend of mine for lunch in York the other day, we had not seen each other in over a year. It was lovely to catch up and we ended up staying out for the whole day.

She was telling me about how she had recently come into some money and had bought a new flat in York city centre and was currently in the process of renovating it. Over lunch we started talking about DIY and interiors and we ended up going shopping for interiors and window blinds in York after lunch.

We visited so many shops in the city centre and a few out of town retail parks. I did not realise that there were so many different types of window blinds in York. Neither of us had a clue about window blinds, plus we had both drunk a large glass of wine each at lunch so were a bit tipsy. This did not help when the sales adviser was asking about sizes and window specifications.

My friend Gill decided that we should go back to hers and measure the windows and also count how many windows the flat has, as she did not have a clue. So we left the shop and went to her new flat and started counting the windows and measuring the windows, but we both felt a bit tipsy and ended up opening a bottle of wine and getting drunk. The window blinds can wait another day.
